A crossover with The Irish Times’ Hugh Linehan on Ireland’s missing far right, America’s political dysfunction, and the ties between the two countries.
As a subscriber to both GD and the Irish Times it was a surreal experience listening to this episode today, really interesting and insightful, thank you!
This is one of my favorite GD episodes in a while. 1. Hearing about Ireland was fascinating. 2. It was really refreshing hearing the perspective refrain from 10000 feet. Dont get me wrong, I love the data and I love the wonk (I also think that's where this podcast thrives). But taking a moment to step back and chat more around vibes was nice. Great episode Galen, keep up the great work!
Very fun episode. I’d like to know what Galen is basing his belief that Democrat voters are basically just as likely to vote for a black candidate on. Self reported or something else?
I’m trying to square this with someone like Kamala running a campaign to the right of biden’s 2020 campaign but still being seen as more “woke” by both democrats -and independents
